Case Study

One of the world’s largest restaurant brands with >15000 store locations globally.

What clients needed:

With declining desktop, brand gets over 90% of their traffic from mobile devices – and this number is still growing.

Half of their visitors come via their native app and half via mobile website. Brand noticed, however, that the majority of conversions were still happening on the native app. Their mobile-web bounce rates tended to be higher as well.

Brand analyzed behavior on their mobile site and realized that their mobile web experience was too slow. Monetization also suffered from slow-loading ads.

Brand aggressively doubled down on acquiring quality users and growing their engaged user base on the mobile web. They looked to Progressive Web App (PWA) technologies to provide a faster-loading, immersive and app-like experience.

SEO was crucial for their orders

Google does crawl PWA sites just like an AJAX or Javascript site, but there are some issues that impact crawlability – so developers need to be aware of how to aware to optimize the site to ensure the page gets indexed appropriately.

To counter this, we have implemented proper meta tags and conventions and some of the things here.

High Performance

End customers wanted faster ordering and low friction in the whole process. We invested heavily in the REST API’s powering the PWA are highly optimized and with <1.5 second location time.

Given the Brand has high volume of orders and uneven traffic conditions, we had to keep the whole thing and backend in a “MICROSERVICE” architecture way

High Availability & Reliability

All the systems in the stack are covered for ensuring 24*7 operations with high availability and peak load processing
